01 / The discipline

About the course.

People, processes and the successful delivery of the built environment, brought together.

Construction Management is a built-environment discipline focused on planning, coordinating and controlling construction projects from inception and design through procurement, site operations, completion and handover. Construction Managers coordinate people, materials, plant, time, quality, health and safety, and project information to help deliver work safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

At the University of Nairobi, Construction Management study brings together construction technology, project planning, site management, procurement, contracts, building services, construction law, health and safety, and project controls. Learning is supported by lectures, tutorials, group work and practical exposure to construction methods, site processes and project documentation.
