Our story
Our History
CRESA’s history reflects the growth of built-environment education and student representation at the University of Nairobi.
CRESA traces its roots to the Students Organization of Building Economics and Land Economics (SOBELE), which represented students pursuing Building Economics, Land Economics, Quantity Surveying, and Construction Management at the University of Nairobi. In 2008, the organisation adopted the name Construction and Real Estate Students Association (CRESA), reflecting the growing scope of the disciplines it represented.
Over the years, CRESA has grown into a platform connecting students pursuing Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, and Real Estate. Through industry partnerships, professional talks, mentorship programmes, and educational site visits, the association has strengthened the connection between academic learning and real-world industry practice.
Today, we continue to nurture future professionals by promoting leadership, collaboration, innovation, and professional development. Guided by our motto, “Solid Foundation for a Brighter Future,” we remain committed to preparing students to make meaningful contributions to Kenya's construction and real estate industries.
